I was of the belief that if you wanted to be successful, you always had to be grinding.

The Stupid Mistake I Used to Make on Christmas! 🎁

True story: back when I was a head coach between 2010 and 2018, I always worked on Christmas day.

Why?

Because I “thought” that’s what coaches did or we would fall behind.

I was of the belief that if you wanted to be successful, you always had to be grinding.

So while everyone else was spending time with their families and sipping egg nog, I was on my laptop “getting ahead”.

Talk about stupid.

If I could go back and give younger Mandy a word of advice it would be this…

You don’t have to “grind” everyday.

It’s ok to take days off.

It’s ok to spend time with your family, and to enjoy the holidays.

You’re not gonna fall behind…

And no one is gonna think you’re less of a coach because of it.

In fact…

This is a great time to take a break.

Why?

Cause pretty much everyone is M.I.A between now and new years…

They’ve all put their email autoresponders on…and your team is at home sitting on the couch not doing their fitness packet 😊

And checked out.

So there ain’t a whole lot to do anyway.

So my advice?

Enjoy the slower pace that’s happening right now.

Get off your laptop, and do some “normal shit” with your family and friends.

When you’re a little older, you’ll be glad you did.

That’s my 2 cents.

Hope you you’re having a good holiday season.

To your success in 2023,

Mandy Green
