How to Double your Progress and Results in 2020
Mar 28, 2022Hi everyone,
Have you ever wished you were getting ahead faster? Or wished you could do more in a day, week, or month? As we all know, with everything being thrown at us as coaches throughout the year, it is really hard to stay on your “A” game all the time.
Throughout the month of December, I am going to give you new tools and strategies to help you accelerate your progress and results faster in 2020.
The reason I care about you progressing faster is because I know you’ve got people to serve. I know you got a family counting on you. I know you’ve got a team who’s counting on you. I know there’s people in the world awaiting your influence and they need to see it. They need to see you show up at your best.
Today, the first strategy I am going to share with you is what is called YOUR Battle Board. I learned this very valuable strategy from my go-to guru Brendon Burchard.
A battle board is a physical, visual wall in your home that clearly outlines and demonstrates what you are working towards throughout the year in weekly and monthly increments. This isn’t on your computer, on your phone, or on a tiny little piece of paper that you tuck away and hide from everybody else so they don’t see what you’re working on.
This is a mission wall or room in your house. This could be on a white board, or some butcher paper, or whatever you can write on so you see it all the time. On that mission/vision/battle board, I want you to separate it into 12 boxes that will represent each month of the year.
In each box, write all of these questions down:
What are you achieving?
What are you working towards?
What goals must happen this month,
What metrics must you meet this month,
What are the steps you’re going to take this month?
Basically, all of the key activities and results you want to create are right there on your battle board. This board is meant to help you get laser-focused on what you want.
If you do feel like you aren’t progressing as fast as you want, my guess is that you keep getting taken off your game plan or you have no real plan at all. A lot of people have a whiteboard in their house, and it’s either got the X’s and O’s on it – or it’s empty all the time.
Have you ever been guilty of looking at your phone more than you look at your goals in a typical day? I know I am guilty as charged at times. Many studies have shown that most people typically look at their phone up to 80 times a day. Are you looking at your phone more than you are looking at your goals? If so, it is a big reason why you aren’t going as fast as you would like.
So many people fail to break through on their dreams because they don’t possess a clear and concrete plan. Create a plan, add it to your battle board, and look at it every day.
When you look at your goals every day, it strengthens your focus and motivation possibly doubling your productivity! Having a visual representation as a daily reminder of who you want to be and of your mission statement helps you stay focused and helps you to attaining your goals at a faster pace. The next time you think of a goal or description of your future self, no matter how big or small it may be, add it to your battle board!
Creating a battle board to track and hold yourself accountable for your productivity is key to doubling your success and attaining your goals at a faster pace.
