You suck at productivity. OUCH.

Happy Sunday Coach,

“Your productivity level sucks.”

I actually had to say this to one of my coaching clients recently. I felt terrible saying it.

But it was accurate.

I tell you this because you might be making the same mistakes.

LISTEN…

Did you know the average American spends 37 minutes per day on Facebook?

Let’s break that down…

37 mins x 7 days = 259 minutes = 4.3 hours Per Week

= 17.2 hours per month = 207 hours per year

207 hours = 8 full days, 24/7

= 25 FULL 8HR WORKDAYS PER YEAR.

Now, that’s not exact numbers depending on how many days in the month, but you get the point…

That’s almost an entire MONTH of work per year!

That was just part of this coach’s problem.

They kept saying, “There’s never enough time for my dreams… my health… my spouse… etc etc etc… blah blah blah because I am so busy.”

Yet this person was on social media almost an hour per day!

(Not posting content to build their programs brand or to help with their recruiting. Just “browsing” almost an hour per day, divided throughout the day in all these mini-distraction moments).

So I gave this client some “tough love”. Then we dug deeper.

This person ALSO lost, to distraction or poor planning, on average, about 60 minutes BEFORE 3PM every day.

(Sometimes, this person lost that hour before lunch!).

Let’s break that down.

60 minutes per day = 30 hours per month
= 3.7 FULL 8HR WORKDAYS per month.
= 45 FULL WORKDAYS PER YEAR.

So, by losing just over 90 minutes per day to social media and general distraction or disorganization, this person was losing 70 FULL WORKDAYS PER YEAR.

That’s losing more than TWO full months of WORK per year.

But not all of that time had to go to work… that was time for family, health, leisure, travel, LIFE!

So yeah, this person did suck at productivity. I know that sounds rude – but remember I’m paid to help coaches achieve high performance in life and in their career. And time management and productivity is essential to that.

The sad part is – and I’m sorry to say this – most coaches are WAY WORSE OFF.

They ALSO watch 4 hours of television per day, spend almost 1 hour in useless meetings or activities, fail to optimize time by saying “no” to lame things, and they don’t even have a written list of goals anywhere within 1000 yards of their body!

I know… That’s not everyone. Probably not you. But dang, time is VALUABLE, right?! The numbers don’t lie!

That’s why I try to be so disciplined about my time and why I share this stuff with you all.

Not sure if you are in need of a little tough love at the moment but if you do, I hope this message was the kick start you needed to have a great week!

To your success,

Mandy Green

P.S. You’ve been asking me for a better way to focus, plan your day, find your breakthroughs, and strategically think to gain real momentum.

I recently made some adjustments to my college coach specific daily planner that thousands of you are already using.

It has day pages like you’ve never seen before, weekly pages, monthly pages, daily assessments.

Truly, this Planner encompasses every idea I’ve ever taught in some way or another. It’s shown in the writing prompts, the evening scorecards, the assessments, the monthly strategy sections. It’s a game changer. Check it out.
